- The estuary is a dangerous spot. The water from the Neyyar River will flow heavily to the Arabian Sea, and going near the estuary may cause accidents.
- The sand formation on the beach is sometimes in the shape of a cliff, which is very dangerous to visit the beach during that time.
- Generally, during heavy rains and windy times, going near the estuary and boating in the main river can be very dangerous.
- Avoid late-night outings. Poovar is not a place for nightlife.
- Eat from good restaurants only. Check reviews before going to any restaurant.
